The Division of Information Technology aims to deliver innovative, reliable, and secure services to support students, educators, clinicians, researchers, and administrators. As Augusta University's central IT provider, we manage essential IT resources such as the wired and wireless network, email, telephony, online collaboration tools, information security, software licensing, websites, and various other systems and applications.

Job Summary

The Audio Systems Engineer (developer/programmer) is responsible for managing the implementation of new audiovisual projects for the University and Health System ranging from $1 - $5 million annually. The projects include new construction and renovation with the incumbent being responsible for analyzing, designing, building, testing, and implementing technical solutions for audiovisual projects and service requests; executes implementation of technical solutions and verifies success; frequently managing and coordinating the work of others, both internally and externally; provides top-tier AV support until implementation is stable, performing to expectations, and turned over to Audiovisual Technologists.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

MANAGE AND CREATE AUDIOVISUAL DESIGNS: Manage and create audiovisual designs from requirements collection through engineering and design to installation and ongoing support.

PROGRAMMER FOR ALL AUDIOVISUAL SYSTEMS: Will be the programmer for all audiovisual systems including, but not limited to, Crestron control systems, BiAmp, and AMX control systems; responsible for creating a standardized graphical user interface designed to efficiently and intuitively meet customer requirements while being technically sound and highly reliable.

PROVIDE THE TOP TIER OF AUDIOVISUAL SUPPORT FOR SYSTEMS: Provide the top tier of audiovisual support for systems including Cisco Tanberg video conferencing, audio and sound systems, digital signage, projection systems, audio conferencing, and other technology commonly found in classrooms, meeting spaces, and event venues.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with three years related experience

OR

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with five years related experience

OR

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization with seven years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of two years of related experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/ databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday-Friday (work outside of regular business hours may be required)

Pay Band: B12

Salary: $62,300/annually - $65,000/annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
