Responsibilities:
1. Lead the procurement process for all engineering materials, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high-quality materials, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
3. Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
4. Coordinate with the engineering team to forecast future material needs and ensure a steady supply.
5. Manage the purchasing process from order placement through delivery, resolving any issues that arise.
6. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and develop improvement plans when necessary.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their material needs and ensure they are met.
8. Comply with all company policies and industry regulations, including those related to procurement and safety.
9. Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
Job Details
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a buying role within the engineering industry, preferably in aerospace.
3. Strong technical knowledge of the materials used in the engineering industry.
4. Proven track record of successful negotiation and supplier management.
5. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
6. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
7. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
9. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Knowledge of procurement regulations and safety standards in the engineering industry.
