Description: Digital Asset Management (DAM) Specialist will support the management of our current DAM system. The role sits within the Creative Services team which services multiple cross-functional teams that handle creative assets. DAM Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all digital assets have clear standards, are managed properly in the digital asset management system and integrate with other applications. The position will support the evolution and enhancements made to the DAM and its capabilities by optimizing user workflows, developing a global taxonomy and metadata standards, and maintaining best practices for digital asset management governance. Ingest incoming assets and ensure standards are met regarding format, size, licensing information and any other relevant data. Process metadata via batch or individual assets to ensure all meaningful data and search terms are captured. Work with project owner of the assets to determine which users should have access and when; adjust as appropriate and track. Ensure any licensing of assets is captured in metadata. Curate and manage asset collections on the homepage of the DAM. Optimize folder structures to ensure clear and easy access for a team when necessary. For example, working with two internal teams to ensure a small group of staff could see very specific assets from the homepage. . Review daily requests to ensure legitimacy of individual/role asking for user access to the DAM. Respond to requests that are questionable to ascertain what the planned use is for assets. Reject in professional manner when necessary. Provide ongoing troubleshooting with the software reps, IT, and users. Provide onboarding for groups of users, respond to support tickets, and offer tutorials to engage users in learning best practices. Actively participate in governance meetings. Run reports to use DAM data to inform KPIs. Advise teams to do same for their measurement goals as appropriate Work with IT and DAM owner to update any new documentation and distribute to users. Evaluate pending keywords and assets on monthly cadence. Identify assets expiring in the next 3 months and alert the project owner. Use reports to learn about use and performance of DAM. Skills: Asset management, digital asset management, Asset inventory, asset management software, taxonomy Additional Skills & Qualifications: Formal education required to qualify for the position. Bachelor’s degree in Library science or information science, computer science, or similar.
