Frolic Pet Services is currently hiring Part-Time Dog Walkers & Pet Sitters!

This listing is for positions servicing the West Seattle & South Seattle areas!

Frolic Pet Services is a locally-owned professional pet care company servicing clients in the Puget Sound region since 2008. We are seeking passionate, dedicated animal lovers to join our team of incredible dog walkers and pet sitters! Our team of pet-loving employees (NOT independent contractors) are thoroughly educated and consistently trained so that they, and our clients' pets, are ensured a professional level of care and safety. A quick overview of this position:

Frolic's team provides a wide variety of pet care services to clients all over the Puget Sound region, and our services are offered 7 days a week, 365 days a year! From dog walking to kitty care, daytime drop-ins to vacation care, we do it all! Our Dog Walkers/Pet Sitters are provided with thorough training and are supported by our incredible team of office staff who work with you to create schedules and driving routes that are suited to your location and availability, and are always ready to assist if any questions arise while you're out spending time with pets.

Schedules Available

Part-Time hours for this zone currently range roughly 5-15 hrs/wk , depending on client requests and staff availability. Due to the nature of pet care, exact hours may vary based on client requests in your coverage zone(s). If you are able to travel outside of this zone, more hours may be available.

We are currently prioritizing candidates with evening and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

  • Dog walking and pet sitting duties for regular, one-time, & vacation-care clients, i.e. cleaning, feeding, walking, running, playing, petting, brushing, pet waste clean-up, light housekeeping, medication administration, etc.
  • Provide high-quality, professional, and loving care to all pets assigned.
  • Communicate with the Frolic office and clients, and provide daily updates & cute pet photos via app.
  • Update our team about changes with clients, pets, locations, keys, instructions, etc.
  • Be able to keep an attentive eye out for potential issues or problems; provide overall quality care in relation to health and safety of all the pets you work with.
  • Additional responsibilities will be highlighted in the interview process and at hire.

Requirements & Expectations

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable & insured vehicle required.
  • Located within 15 minutes of the West Seattle or South Seattle areas (highly preferred).
  • Reliable smartphone with data package, messaging, GPS, email, phone, and camera required. (You will be required to download an app and use it throughout your entire working day with location services activated. Good battery life or an external battery charger may be necessary.)
  • We require full & up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC.
  • Able to consistently and repetitively walk, kneel, squat, bend, lift, push, pull, grasp, and balance while walking/caring for pets.
  • Able to lift 60lbs+ from ground to table (for example: lifting a dog from ground into a car) when necessary.
  • Able to walk at a moderate-to-fast pace (including hills) for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
  • Possess a high level of patience, calm demeanor, and problem-solving attitude. Things can occasionally go not-quite-as-expected when dealing with pets, so a cool head is a must!
  • Attention to detail regarding written instructions and pet health.
  • Self-motivated and able to stay on task with little or no supervision.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality, able to interact with clients and co-workers in a consistently professional manner.
  • Most importantly, must love animals!

Compensation & Benefits

-$20-22/hr starting, depending on experience.

-60% of what we bill the client when providing "Stand Alone" services; individual client service appointments that that take place outside of regular consecutively scheduled hours.

-Paid training, both online and in the field.

Team members with full time positions are eligible for medical & other benefits after a standard waiting period.

Depending on your availability, location, skill level, and qualifications, additional positions and promotion opportunities can become available!

Locations Available

This job listing is for positions servicing the West and South Seattle areas, but that's not all we have available!

Choose the area you are interested in working in! We have clients pretty much everywhere between North Seattle & Tacoma, and even on the east side. Routes are localized, pre-scheduled, and mapped for efficiency & accuracy.
