Job Description
Truck Driver for Lake Life Catering/Pier 290 Key Responsibility Areas - Safe and efficient movement of boats including to and from Gage Boat Storage and the shops, hauling out of the water, and launching (for storage, non-storage, sale and in/out customers).
- Attention to safety and detail of all persons, boats, vehicles, and storage buildings.
- Maintain communication with other drivers, porters, yard and transportation managers, and service advisors as well as locations of boats with each movement.
- CDL is preferred, but not required.
Major Duties/Responsibilities - Safely and efficiently operate all boat handling equipment (all forklifts, hydraulic trailer, all trucks, yard arms, etc.) including backing up a truck and trailer with ease
- Be able to drive a boat safely on the water under all weather conditions.
- Maintain neat and clean service facilities & equipment.
- Monitor Driver Schedule sheet/app and ensure that boats are efficiently and effectively delivered on time and to the right destinations.
- Record each pick-up and delivery using applications according to direction/process as mandated by Yard and Transportation Manager. Maintaining a 100% accurate boat location maps.
- Ability to implement effective and efficient work procedures.
- Assist Yard with boat movement as necessary.
- Keep all trucks clean inside and out.
- Knowledge of customer boats and locations.
- Explore ways to better serve customers (Internal & External).
- Develop ways to communicate with customers to maintain a "personalized environment" and obtain feedback to monitor customer satisfaction. (i.e. greeting customers, boat locations, ease of access for customer pick up, signage, etc.)

- Keeping track and organization of trailers
- Keep trailers working properly
- Use Google application as Directed by Yard and Transportation Manager to maintain 100% accurate trailer location map and trailer storage records.
- Report shop trailer damage or need of repair to Yard and Transportation Manager.
- Daily Administrative Needs
- Work with service writer on accurate timelines.
- Accurate daily launch list kept of all tasks completed individually & consolidated nightly.
- Check in with service writers if list complete or time available during day.
- Having the right tools and equipment in haul vehicle and boat (i.e. oils, ropes, battery charger, hot box, etc.).
- Think of new ideas to be more efficient and effective.
- Schedule Requirements and Physical Demands:
- Able to work an average of 40-60 hours per week.
- Able to work a variety of shifts, which include weekends, nights, days, and holidays.
- Able to safely, responsibly and competently operate all vehicles and equipment related to Production.
Requirements - A high school diploma or equivalent
- Professional appearance and positive attitude to all customers
- Ability to communicate at a high level, both verbally and in writing
- Organizational and computer skills are required for the position
- Be team-oriented, self-motivated, and process driven
- Customer service or sales-related background preferable
- Have a valid state driver's license
- Ability to operate all equipment sold by the dealership
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background/drug screen
