Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Status: Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities
Reports To: BCBA/BCaBA/Nexus Therapies Management
Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides intensive behavioral intervention services to clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental delays. These services address areas such as language, cognitive skills, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, self-care, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and communication. The RBT is responsible for the direct delivery of behavioral services to clients and their families, maintaining accurate case notes, and communicating effectively with supervising BCBAs or BCaBAs regarding client programs and progress. The RBT maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Director.
Essential Functions:
Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
Develop weekly programs and maintain accurate client program books.
Collaborate with the Clinical Team to implement individualized goals and checklists.
Implement individualized treatment plans as written and directed by a Clinical Manager.
Graph data as instructed (this may only be required if the electronic data collection system is unavailable).
Maintain strict client confidentiality and respect.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by engaging in continuing education activities such as workshops, professional publications, professional networking, and participation in relevant professional societies.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all clients.
Adhere to all relevant confidentiality regulations to avoid legal challenges.
Possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable California driving requirements.
Maintain reliable transportation.

Actively participate in Nexus Therapies’ community outreach initiatives.
Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Nexus Therapies.
Required Education and Experience:
Associate's degree and coursework in marriage and family therapy, child development, special education, psychology, or a related field.
Current RBT Certification.
Demonstrated understanding of Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), and other Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods.
Visual acuity sufficient for reading printed materials and observing clients.
Auditory acuity sufficient for understanding speech at normal conversation levels in English.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to manage moderate to high stress levels.
Work environment includes clinical, office, and home settings.
Work environment typically maintains normal climate conditions; occasional exposure to adverse weather conditions may occur.
Regular interaction with parents, community members, and external agency personnel.
Potential exposure to clients exhibiting physically aggressive, self-abusive, or socially undesirable behaviors.
Ability and willingness to travel punctually and as assigned between client locations.
Successful completion of FBI and DOJ background checks.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time or full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (not more than 40 hours per week), with occasional weekend work as needed based on client schedules and workload.
Travel:
This position requires up to 100% travel between client residences within the Metro area.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Current RBT Certification or willingness to receive training and become certified
